Partner Program Payout States

This article shares more details about the Partner Program payout states shown on your Partner Program Dashboard.

 

The payout history tab on your Partner Program Dashboard shows the latest status of your payouts. Here is what each payout state means, and any related action items you may need to take:

  1. Transfer: Your payout has been successfully transferred to your connected Stripe account. No action is required at this time.
  2. Pending: Your payout is in the process of being transferred to your Stripe account. The transfer state will update accordingly, depending on whether your payout settings have been successfully completed. No action is required at this time.
  3. On Hold: Your payout is on hold - we are unable to transfer your payout to you due to incomplete payout settings. To receive your payout during the next payout period, please connect a valid Stripe account and submit your taxpayer information
  4. Failed: Your payout was unsuccessful - we are unable to transfer your payout to you. 
    • “There was an issue completing this payout. Please contact Stripe to resolve the issue.”: We are unable to transfer your payout to you due to an issue with your Stripe account. To receive your payout during the next payout period, please contact Stripe to resolve the issue.
    • “There was an issue completing this payout.”: We are unable to transfer your payout to you due to an issue we’re looking into. Please contact Medium Support if you have any questions.
  5. Forfeited: Your payout was forfeited - we are unable to transfer your payout to you as your payout settings have not been completed after a certain amount of time. You can learn more about the forfeiture policy here. To set up payouts, please connect a valid Stripe account and submit your taxpayer information.
    • Note: This only applies to payouts initiated prior to September 2024.
  6. Reversed: Your payout was sent back to Medium under your request. No action is required.
