Medium is required by law to send tax forms to writers who meet the following earnings thresholds for the year:
- US residents who earned over $10 — 1099-MISC
- Non-US residents who earned over $0.50 — 1042-S
If you earned below these amounts, you will not receive a tax form. You can verify your earnings in your Partner Program dashboard.
Tax forms are sent by a company called Track1099. Check your email for a message from Track1099 — you will need the last 4 characters of your tax ID number to access the form.
