The Editor Partner Program is open to editors of qualifying Medium publications who are enrolled in the Medium Partner Program.
Publication criteria
A qualifying publication:
- Publishes stories from writers other than the publication owner
- Is selective about the stories it accepts
- Has built an audience on Medium
There's no minimum follower count, but publications should have demonstrated consistent engagement with their readers.
Enrollment
Enrollment is automatic — there's no application. If your publication qualifies, you'll receive an email notification before the start of the month you're enrolled.
Maintaining eligibility
Eligibility is evaluated on a rolling basis. Your publication needs to meet the criteria for at least three of the last six months to remain in the program. This gives publications some room for slower periods without losing their place.
Who earns within a publication
All editors of a qualifying publication can claim stories and earn — not just the publication owner. Each editor must be individually enrolled in the Medium Partner Program.
If you're both a writer and an editor
You can earn on your own paywalled stories through the Medium Partner Program and on other writers' stories through the Editor Partner Program. You can't earn through the Editor Partner Program on your own stories.
