Subscription details
- On your homepage, click on your profile picture and click Settings.
- In the Membership and payment tab, you can view your subscription details, including your subscription plan, billing period, and payment information.
If you subscribed with a credit card, you can update your credit card information from there. For subscriptions purchased through PayPal, iTunes, or Google Play Store, go to the appropriate store and edit your payment information from there.
- In the app, tap your profile picture on the bottom bar.
- Tap Settings in the top-right corner.
- Tap Membership and payment.
- There you can view your subscription details, including your subscription plan, billing period, and payment information.

Change plan
You can change your subscription plan at any time. Your subscription will be converted to the new plan once the current billing period ends.
- On your homepage, click on your profile picture and click Settings.
- In the Membership and payment section, select the plan you prefer (Monthly or Annual) in the Billing section.
- You'll be able to confirm or cancel the change on a confirmation modal.
- On your phone or tablet, go to your phone's Settings > [your name] > iTunes & App Store.
- Tap your Apple ID at the top of the screen.
- Tap View Apple ID. You might need to sign in.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap Medium membership from the list.
- From that page you will be able to change the subscription plan.
- In the app, tap your profile picture on the bottom bar.
- Tap Settings in the top-right corner.
- Tap Become a Friend of Medium.
- Select your desired billing frequency (monthly or annual).
- Tap Select.
Cancellations
You can cancel your subscription at any time. Once you cancel, you will still be able to use all your membership benefits until the the end of the billing cycle. For more information, see Paid Terms.
- On your homepage, click on your profile picture and click Settings.
- In the Membership and payment section, click Cancel your membership.
Note: If you purchased your membership through iTunes or Google Play Store, you'll need to cancel your subscription directly through that service.
- On your phone or tablet, go to your phone's Settings > [your name] > iTunes & App Store.
- Tap your Apple ID at the top of the screen.
- Tap View Apple ID. You might need to sign in.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap Medium membership from the list.
- Tap Cancel subscription.
Note: Uninstalling the app or deleting your Medium account will not automatically cancel your membership subscription purchased through iTunes. You must cancel your subscription via iTunes to end the subscription. If you uninstall the app or delete the account without canceling your membership, you will still be charged.
- On your mobile device, open the Google Play app.
- At the top right, tap the profile icon.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions and tap Subscriptions.
- Select the Medium subscription.
- Tap Cancel subscription.
- Follow the instructions.
Note: Uninstalling the app or deleting your Medium account will not automatically cancel your membership subscription purchased through the Google Play Store. You must cancel your subscription via the Google Play Store to end the subscription. If you uninstall the app or delete the account without canceling your membership, you will still be charged.
Billing history and invoices
Click the relevant tab below to learn more about receiving an invoice for your subscription.
If you purchased your subscription through credit card or PayPal on medium.com, you can get your invoice from your Settings page.
- On your homepage, click on your profile picture and click Settings.
- In the Membership and payment section, click Membership billing history.
- Click Invoice near the payment you want to download an invoice for.
- Click the Print invoice button to print or download your invoice. If you need to add your or your company address to the invoice, click Edit invoice details, add the relevant details, and click Save details.
Please note: For privacy purposes, Medium does not store the information you put into the notes section.
If you purchased your subscription through iTunes via the Medium iOS app, you can get your invoice by signing in to their payment system. You should also see it in the email you received after subscribing—the subject line is "Your receipt from Apple."
- On your phone or tablet, go to Settings > [your name] > iTunes & App Store.
- Tap your Apple ID, then tap View Apple ID. You might be asked to sign in with your Apple ID.
- If you use Family Sharing, you'll see in your purchase history what you bought using your Apple ID, but you won't see what other family members bought. To see what other family members bought, sign in with their Apple ID. Swipe up to Purchase History and tap it.
- Tap on the > to the right of the total billed charge to see details of an invoice, including the billing date and order ID. If the total charge was more than zero, you can tap Resend at the bottom of the invoice details screen to get a new email receipt.

If you purchased your subscription through Google Play Store via the Medium Android app, you can get your invoice by signing in to their payment system. You should also see it in the email you received after subscribing—the subject line is "Your Google Play Order Receipt."
- On your mobile device, open the Google Play Store app.
- Tap the side menu and select Account.
- Tap Purchase history.
