Can I proactively reach out to writers whose stories I’d like to Boost?
Yes! A few things to keep in mind:
- If you opt to use public comments to communicate with writers, do not leave identical comments on multiple writers' posts, because you risk violating our comment spam policies.
- We recommend using Medium’s Private Notes feature to communicate with writers whose work you’d like to Boost.
- Be mindful that some writers may be unfamiliar with the Boost Nomination Program, so it might be helpful to link to this story on the Medium Blog as a way to educate them.
- Do not ask writers to contact you off-platform (i.e. via email or Slack) as that’s behavior that some spammers and scammers engage in, and we don’t want writers thinking you’re scamming them!
