Why do I keep getting signed out?

To use all of the Medium services while visiting custom domain publications on Medium (like hackernoon.com, freecodecamp.com, etc) you must accept the cookies from medium.com and any custom domain on Medium as well. If your third-party cookies are turned off, you might experience problems with signing in to your Medium account and/or interacting with Medium stories (through bookmarking, clapping, etc.)

If you use an ad blocking extension on your browser, you also might need to add exceptions for the domains on Medium that you visit most, otherwise, you might still get logged out. You can find instructions for adding exceptions to ad blockers here.

We've also found that Ghostery causes this issue. Please try removing Ghostery or whitelisting Medium and the other custom domains on Medium. Read more about whitelisting sites on Ghostery.

Below you will find instructions for turning on third-party cookies on popular browsers. If you're using another browser, please refer to your browser's support pages.
