Make sure your browser extensions don't interfere with Medium
Browser extensions that block paywalls will prevent you from signing in to Medium. Disable these extensions if you want to use Medium.
If you use an ad blocking extension on your browser, you also might need to add exceptions for the domains on Medium that you visit most, otherwise, you might still get logged out. You can find instructions for adding exceptions to ad blockers here.
Ghostery browser extension
One of the most common cases we've found interfering with Medium was from users using the Ghostery extension. Please try removing Ghostery or turning off Ghostery anti-tracking for Medium pages. Here's how you can turn off Ghostery anti-tracking:
- Click the blue Ghostery extension icon.
- Click Detailed view.
- Click the shield icon that represents "enhanced anti-tracking" to turn off anti-tracking.
- Refresh the page.
