Write a response

If a story or list speaks to you, you can leave a response for the author and other readers to see.

Responses link back to the original post or list, but have their own page and act just like any post on Medium.

You must be signed in to your Medium account to be able to leave a response.

Click the Responses button underneath a story or list to open the response panel on the right side.
Click What are your thoughts? to start composing your response.
Click Respond to publish your response.

Note: Writing on Medium is only available on supported browsers.

You can also respond by quoting a specific passage from the story.

Select the passage you want to comment on and click the Responses button to open the response panel on the right side.
The passage you selected will be visible at the top of your response. Click What are your thoughts? to start composing your response.
Click Respond to publish your response.

Please note that responses are not eligible for monetization in the Medium Partner Program.
