This discount is only redeemable by visiting Medium on the web and is limited to one use per user. To qualify, sign up with a school email address (.edu or similar). It applies to monthly or annual plans, including Friend of Medium, for your first year.
How to get an academic discount
- Create a Medium account using your school email address.
- Select the monthly, annual, or Friend of Medium plan.
- Complete payment and enjoy your discounted membership.
Notes
- You can only redeem an academic discount at checkout on desktop or mobile web. Once checkout is complete, you'll be able to access your membership benefits on the Medium iOS and Android apps.
- To apply an academic discount on your school address to an already-active membership, cancel your current membership in your settings and wait for it to expire. Once it expires, you can redeem the academic discount at medium.com/plans.
- If you lose access to your school email address (for example, after graduating), you may lose access to your Medium account associated with that address. We recommend updating your account email to a personal address before your school email is deactivated.
