Medium Partner Program: Application and enrollment

This guide walks you through the requirements, application process, and enrollment steps for the Medium Partner Program.

What is the Medium Partner Program?

The Medium Partner Program rewards writers for sharing their best work with paying Medium members.

Eligibility requirements

Before applying, make sure you meet all of the following criteria:

• Your profile is complete
• You have published at least 6 stories and have been active on Medium for at least 3 months.
• You have a bank account and file taxes in an eligible country
• You are at least 18 years old
• You have read and accepted Medium's terms, policies, and rules

Supported countries

Enrollment is currently available to writers with a bank account and tax residence in the following countries:

How to apply

• Go to medium.com/partner-program and click Apply now. 
• Complete and submit the application form. 
• Our team will review your application and notify you once a decision has been made.

How to complete enrollment

Once accepted, you'll need to complete two steps to set up payouts:

1. Connect your Stripe account
   Stripe is Medium's third-party payout processor. Go to medium.com/partner-program/payout/checklist and follow the steps to create or connect an active Stripe account. For more details, see Setting up payouts with Stripe.
2. Submit your taxpayer information
   Medium uses Tipalti to collect taxpayer information. Complete all required fields in the Tipalti form. If you have questions about any items, refer to this Help Center section.

Making your stories eligible to earn

Once enrolled, you can put new or previously published stories behind the paywall. When members read, listen to, or engage with your content, you'll receive a share of their membership dues.

Higher-quality stories — rich with expertise, personal experience, and original insight — tend to reach more readers and earn more. You can track your earnings in your Partner Program dashboard.

Staying enrolled: ongoing requirements

To remain active in the Partner Program, you must continue to meet the following requirements:

Failure to meet these requirements may result in stories being removed from the paywall or termination of your enrollment.
