With Save to Medium, you can save stories from anywhere on the internet, and view it in the Medium app for iOS or Android.
Saving to Medium
If you use Google Chrome, you can install our browser extension. This extension will add a Medium button to your browser toolbar, which can save any URL with a single click. You must have an account with Medium and be logged in to your Medium account to be able to save articles to Medium using the Chrome extension.
- Open Save to Medium in Chrome Web Store.
- Click Add to Chrome to install the extension in your browser.
- Click Add extension.
Saving articles using the Medium share extension
- In your Chrome browser, go to the article you want to save to Medium.
- Click the Save to Medium extension icon in the top-right corner of your browser to automatically save the article to your Reading list.
If you use Safari on a macOS device, you can install our browser extension. This extension will add a Medium button to your browser toolbar, which can save any URL with a single click. You must have an account with Medium and be logged in to your Medium account to be able to save articles to Medium using the Safari extension.
- In Safari, click Safari and choose Preferences.
- Go to the Extensions tab and click More Extensions.
- Click Done, and type in Save to Medium into the search bar.
- Click Get and Install to install the exstension.

- In your Safari browser, go to the article you want to save to Medium.
- Click the Save to Medium extension icon in the top-right corner of your browser to automatically save the article to your Reading list.
If you use Firefox, you can install our browser extension. This extension will add a Medium button to your browser toolbar, which can save any URL with a single click. You must have an account with Medium and be logged in to your Medium account to be able to save articles to Medium using the Firefox extension.
- Open Save to Medium in Firefox Add-ons.
- Click Add to Firefox to install the extension in your browser.
- Click Add.
Saving articles using the Medium share extension
- In your Firefox browser, go to the article you want to save to Medium.
- Click the Save to Medium extension icon in the top-right corner of your browser to automatically save the article to your Reading list.
Enabling the Medium share extension for the first time
You can use Medium’s new Share extension to save links from your mobile browser or any app directly to your reading list in the Medium app. Below are the steps to activate Medium’s Share extension in your iPhone and iPad.
- Make sure you have the Medium app installed on your device and sign in to your Medium account.
- In your mobile browser or reading app, go to the story you want to save to Medium and tap the Share button.
- Swipe left on the list of available services and tap More.
- Enable Save to Medium and tap Done.
Saving articles using the Medium share extension
Once you enabled the extension, you can save any URL to Medium.
- In your mobile browser or reading app, go to the story you want to save to Medium and tap the Share button.
- Tap Save to Medium.
- The article will be saved to your Reading list in the Medium app.
Enabling the Medium share extension for the first time
If you are using latest version of Medium’s Android app, you will be able to see Save to Medium in Android’s share menu by default.
Saving articles using the Medium share extension
- In your mobile browser or reading app, go to the story you want to save to Medium and tap the Share button.
- Tap Save to Medium.
- The article will be saved to your Reading list in the Medium app.
Viewing your saved articles in the app
Note: At this time, you can only read your saved stories using the Medium mobile app for iOS or Android.
- In the Medium iOS app, tap the bookmark ribbon from the bottom menu.
- The articles saved using Save to Medium will automatically appear in the Saved tab of your Reading list.
- In the Medium Android app, open the drawer menu and tap Bookmarks. If you're a Medium member, you should see Reading list instead.
- The articles saved using Save to Medium will automatically appear in the Saved tab of your Reading list.
